A Natural Fit — Birkenstock & Kerrin
A curated selection of Birkenstock footwear is now available to buy online at Kerrin.co, including the scarce Kyoto slide style. The styles - Montana, Amsterdam and Kyoto - were all worn in the debut Kerrin runway show at the Melbourne Fashion Festival earlier this year.
The weeks leading up to the 2020 Melbourne Fashion Festival in March were some of the best and busiest experienced in the Kerrin Co studio to date. Like sliding down the face of an a-frame wave, our breaths were held for everything to come together for our debut runway show. Numerous designs landed just in time to be included in the show.
Stars aligned again when a stylist and friend of our young brand introduced us to the Birkenstock Australia team. We were pumped to have a meeting at their Melbourne HQ and got a chance to see new footwear styles and colourways in development. It would be the start of a relationship that brings energy to a shared design philosophy.

As well as making innovative and well-designed products, Birkenstock is an inspiring business that has been well ahead of the times when it comes to responsible manufacturing and sustainability. Case in point: we learned during our visit that when the provenance of their socks couldn’t be fully traced and accounted for, Birkenstock bought the sock factory to ensure the manufacturing cycle was owned and transparent from start to finish.
The Birkenstock Australia team was incredibly generous, providing all the footwear for our runway show, which completed the outfits to casual perfection.
In our latest brand photoshoot we were also able to feature key Birkenstock styles to complement the clean but laid-back aesthetic. We’re looking forward to sharing more of the photographs in the coming weeks as the warmer weather hits down south and lockdown lifts to allow our Melbourne-made pieces to be made and delivered.
Recently, Birkenstock Australia contacted us to see if we could supply the clothing for their own photoshoot. Naturally, we were wrapped to be able to reciprocate and you can see some of their great work featured below and more in our @kerrin.co instagram feed.
We look forward to developing our terrific relationship with Birkenstock Australia and to collaborating in new and interesting ways in the future.
